Day Three Coach Check In

Hi Everyone! It's Coach Katie doing a celebrity guest blog appearance. Just a quick check in, more pictures to follow tomorrow from Scott and Deidre. Our first full day of soccer was jam-packed. The girls met Baer for the first time in their session this morning and quickly adapted to his intense and focused training style. After a quick lunch back at the hostel they were back on the field for another afternoon session which again focused on the Dutch style of play specifically when we possess the ball - making the field, in the words of Baer "great" when your team has possession of the ball. After a quick break, the girls went to the field for a third time. The team played a great first half, holding the KNVB Regional Team (equivalent of our ODP) team to one goal at half but we ultimately ended up losing 5-0 after a valiant effort. We finally returned to our hostel around 8:30 and enjoyed a barbecue - thanks for grilling Scott! Additionally, we've had several dedicated fans travel internationally to pay our team a visit. Faith saw her grandfather and Bill Knowles is sitting here with us at the hostel as I write this. Again, you will enjoy a more in-depth and professional blog from our two saintly chaperones tomorrow. I'm so happy to be here with all your girls. Everyone is having a blast, working hard, and enjoying time with each other.
